While wooden spoons appeal to me aesthetically they aren’t my choice to eat with because they are bulky and don’t feel comfortable. I do reach for one, though, and that’s for eating oatmeal.
It was carved twenty years ago when I studied with Drew Langsner. The bowl is very thin and was shaped to fit my particular mug after a long episode of placing it in my mouth and withdrawing it to carve away more fibers until perfection was achieved and my gag reflex had about done me in.
